WALNUT ACRES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
2022 READ-A-THON FUNDRAISER!
NOVEMBER 14th - NOVEMBER 28th, 2022
WHAT IS THE READ-A-THON?
The Read-A-Thon is a fundraiser that challenges students to use their most important academic skill, READING, to directly support our school. The money raised goes to sustain our PFC-funded initiatives such as grade-level aides, reading and math specialists, science aides, art awareness and vocal music.
HOW DOES THE READ-A-THON WORK?
Students set a reading goal (hours or minutes/day) for the 15-day reading period, Monday, November 14th - Monday, November 28th.
Students solicit sponsors to support their goal via online fundraising or cash/check.
Students and parents record pledges on the Read-A-Thon envelope and log minutes read on the back on the envelope (2nd through 5th graders may include minutes reading to a younger sibling, and TK through 1st graders may include minutes they are read to by older sibling, parent, etc.)
Students return their envelopes with pledges enclosed to school between Tuesday, November 29th and Friday, December 2nd.
** Reading Log must be legibly recorded each day, and initialed by a parent.**
