I thought public education was free. Why am I being asked to donate?
We fundraise to bridge the gap between public funding and the true cost of our children’s education at Walnut Acres. Over 80% of our PFC budget is used for staff positions that would not exist at Walnut Acres Elementary without PFC funds.
Still haven't donated to Jag Fund? Through parent donations, the PFC is able to fund many of the things that make our school unique. Check out the PFC website for more information and please help us meet our goal. The suggested donation is $650 per student, which can be contributed in monthly payments if you prefer.

Science Fair Forms Are Due By This

WALNUT ACRES STEM & Science Fair, Thursday, February 6th, 2020
Get ready for the 2020 STEM and Science Fair! Walnut Acres students, grades K-5, are encouraged to think like young scientists and submit a project in any science-related or engineering field. Entry forms are due on January 16th! Click HERE for the form and make sure you send your child's form to sciencefair@walnutacrespfc.net and/or drop it in the Science Fair box in the office before the 16th. Is Your Wine Rack Overflowing?
Is your wine rack overflowing with too much wine purchased or gifted to you during the holidays? If so, it’s perfect timing to donate wine for our 2020 Auction Gala Night! You can help make this evening successful and fun by donating wine for our event. We are looking to collect a wide range of red, white, bubbly and rosé wine selections ($15 and up) for our guests to enjoy. We are also hoping to collect some high-end bottles to generate extra excitement. We are grateful for your wine donations. Drop off locations: 933 Piute Court (off Quiet Place Drive - a large bin is by the porch) or 2761 San Antonio Drive in Walnut Creek.

Auction Is Coming! Here's How You Can Help!
Walnut Acres Auction needs your help!!! The PFC depends on a strong Auction to fund 1/4 of our annual budget. The money we raise at Auction this spring will determine how many of the current programs we are able to sustain in the next school year. Help us avoid program cuts and even build on our already strong support for all that is possible at Walnut Acres by contributing items, experiences and wine to the Auction. 1st Grade Parents -
January is Your Month to
Host Drive Thru
1st Grade Parents: For the month of January, please help us in the Drive Thru line as we open doors and greet students while they are arriving at school. As like last year, we are having each class level help out at the Drive Thru during specific months. We would appreciate 2-4 helpers each day. The PFC board is beginning to look for some energetic parents that are interested in the opportunity to be more involved with a variety of the PFC groups for the 2020-2021 school year. Recycle Club News
A big thanks to everyone who has dropped off empty chip bags, bar wrappers and pouches to be recycled via TerraCycle last week. Please be informed there will be a regular TerraCycle collection in the same week as the CRV collection, first full week of every month. Drop off will be in the same spot as the CRV drop off, to keep it fast and simple. There will be a marked can for "CRV" and one for "TerraCycle". You can find more information HERE. Thanks for your support. Also, don't forget to save up those cans and bottles. Next recycle collection will be February 3rd-7th. Bring your cans and plastic bottles (please, no glass) to the monthly collecting station by the drop off zone. Mike Jahnke brings the recycling donated by YOU to the Martinez recycling plant and brings back cash $$ which is then donated to our Recycle Club.

Kid and Parent Buy-In Parties Needed
Interested in a fun way to support our school? We need you! We are looking for hosts for Seasonal/Winter buy in parties for all grade levels! Take advantage of the beautiful fall weather and host an activity to celebrate the season. Autumn has so much to offer: hikes, scavenger hunts, crafts, costumes, changing colors of leaves, sports and more!
Consider hosting a kids party/movie night, an afternoon of ice skating, a winter holiday craft day, Frozen 2 movie outing, ring in the new year with a kids New Year’s Eve party, or indoor play time at a local facility. Our team can help with planning and making your party idea a reality!
