Halloween at Walnut Acres

As is tradition at Walnut Acres, Halloween will be celebrated with a Costume Parade and a Sing Out on Halloween Day. Students are invited to wear a costume, but please no masks or weapons. Your child's teacher will send home further details about what is happening in your child's classroom. Here is the tentative schedule for the morning:

8:00am Sing-Out for 3rd-5th graders in the MUR

8:30am Halloween Parade on the black top

9:00am Sing-Out for TK-2nd graders in the MUR

Parents are welcome to attend the parade and the sing outs.

Tickets are going quickly for this evening of dinner, dancing, and live auction fun on Friday, March 9, so don’t wait! Get your tickets here! To secure a spot in one of our pre-auction raffles as part of your purchase, leave your check and order form in the office at school.

Remember, all proceeds from this event go to programs for our kids – the world is not enough!

Volunteers & Donations for “Live and Let Bid” Auction!

Calling all agents: We need additional volunteers to help secure exciting bid items that raise money for our kids! If you can spare a couple hours before November 15, please sign up on Konstella to call or visit local business, and remind them it’s time to donate to our Auction fundraiser. And if you or anyone you know is curious about donating directly, all the details and benefits of supporting our auction are online.

Be a Reading Ninja and peak into your favorite book at this year's Book Fair - and raise money for our school at the same time! This is a great opportunity to pick up some great books to read during the Read-a-thon (see below!)

Special guest! Author Luke Flowers, creator of the popular Moby Shinobi series, will be kicking off the Book Fair on Monday, November 6, with an assembly for TK-3rd grade readers.

It's a MAD, MAD World! Are you curiouser and curiouser? Then it's time for a TEA Party! Click on this Curtains Up Youth Theatre Link for all the dates, details, and showtimes. Auditions will be held in November. The first meeting for all performers is November 16th.

Drive Thru Sign Ups by Grade Level!

Thank you to the 4th Grade parents who have stepped up to open doors and greet our students at the Drive Thru during the month of October. November is the 3rd Grade parents' turn! We need 4 parents per day, Monday - Thursday. Fridays will continue to be Father Fridays with our awesome dads greeting the kids in the morning. Please sign up now - it's a short commitment - just 20 minutes from 7:40 - 8:00 am, but it makes a huge difference in getting our school days off to a good start!

Intradistrict Transfer Request for the 2018-19 School YearBeginning Monday, October 17 through November 17, 2017, the district will accept Intradistrict Transfer Requests. No requests will be accepted after the November 17 deadline. All applications must be made online through the MDUSD website.
