Sweet Way to Save Wine Walk

We need a dessert house host to save this tradition! If you have a home or a friend near Walnut Acres Elementary campus, please consider stepping up to be our third host for this wonderful walkable evening. Contact Riva Bobrowsky if you can help – we are running out of time!

Can you help with Time or with Wine?

You can still contribute to or help with the Auction... We continue to collect wine donations that will be sold at the auction. Please deliver to 115 Los Banos Ave or email Marisa Linquist for pickup ($20 minimum value per bottle please). Soul Shoppe Grade-Level Workshops at Walnut Acres, Wednesday, Feb. 21stWalnut Acres students will be attending grade-level workshops with Soul Shoppe this Wednesday, February 21st. The workshop is called "I've Got Your Back: From Bystander to Upstander." Attached to this Enews is a letter from Soul Shoppe that explains tools students can use to help friends stop bullying, teasing, excluding or gossiping, and what parents can do to reinforce the skills. Stay tuned for more information on a follow up parent presentation by Soul Shoppe on social emotional learning tools.

Nominations are now open for the sixth annual Mt. Diablo Education Association (MDEA) Academy Awards! Anyone may submit a nomination to recognize, promote, and celebrate the excellence of MDUSD employees and community members.

Individuals may be nominated for the following awards.

Walnut Acres Art Show 2018- March 15th

Attention all artists! It's time to get ready for the annual Art Show happening on Thursday, March 15th when the MUR will be transformed into a Museum of Modern Art featuring masterpieces by our own Walnut Acres students. To learn more about this event and to enter your student, check out Art Show on the PFC website.

The deadline to enter is March 1st.

Yearbook Deadlines

5th Grade Families! The Deadline to put an Ad in the 2018 Yearbook is EXTENDED to February 28.

Do you want to put a special message for your 5th Grader in the yearbook? Information on how to purchase and submit your personal ad can be found on the Yearbook page of the PFC website at http://www.walnutacrespfc. net/yearbook. Create and pay for your ad no later than February 28.

Order your Yearbook by April 15th! Yearbooks are $30 dollars. They can only be purchased online this year. Please visit the yearbook page on the PFC website for information on how to order your book. Don't miss out on the memories!

Share your School Photos with the Yearbook! Students, parents and teachers can contribute photos to the yearbook staff by directly uploading them to the yearbook website for potential use. You can share photos of field trips, classroom events, school and community events or shots of your children and their friends. The more you share, the better our book can be! Drive Thru Sign Ups by Grade Level

Thank you to the 1st Grade parents who stepped up to open doors and greet our students at the Drive Thru during the month of January. Each month, a different class level is responsible for helping at the Drive Thru. February is the 5th Grade parents' turn, and March is the 4th grade parents turn!CLICK HERE for 5th Grade February sign ups.

We need 4 parents per day, Monday - Thursday. Fridays will continue to be Father Fridays with our awesome dads greeting the kids in the morning. Please sign up now - it's a short commitment - just 20 minutes from 7:40 - 8:00 am, but it makes a huge difference in getting our school days off to a good start!

Girls on the Run - Walnut Acres FieldTuesdays 4:00 - 5:15pm ; Saturdays 9:45 - 11:00amGrades 3-5February 27-May 12th

At Girls on the Run, we believe that every girl can embrace who she is, can define who she wants to be, and can change the world. Girls in grades 3rd-5th, come have fun with us and take part in games that help you feel positive and good! This is NOT a competitive running program; it is a celebration of doing things you never thought you could. Physical activity is woven into our program to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build habits that lead to a lifetime of health.

Join us each Tuesday and Saturday to move, jump, have fun and celebrate yourself! The 10-week session includes healthy snacks at each lesson, a t-shirt, a water bottle and entry to the end of season Girls on the Run 5K on Sunday, May 6th in San Francisco.
