Dear Walnut Acres Families,
We are extremely lucky to have families that show so much love and generosity to our school and also to our community. Our distinguished Walnut Acres is a wonderful place for our children to learn primarily due to our dear and esteemed principal Dr. Dowd.  Her dedication and love for Walnut Acres is one of the many reasons our children enjoy so many extraordinary programs and have strong academic support.  

Please join us in offering our most heartfelt condolences to Dr. Dowd for the recent loss of her mother.  We are thinking of you during this difficult time.  You and your family are in our hearts and our prayers.
The next PFC meeting is scheduled on March 17th at 7pm.  Be sure to note that the next few PFC meetings will be an essential part of our planning for next year’s programs, activities and most importantly the 2015-16 PFC budget.  All parents are welcome and encouraged to be part of the planning process!

PFC Ways and Means-While the Jaguar Fund and the Auction are the largest fundraisers and provide the bulk of our annual budget, we cannot forget how important our other programs and fundraisers are.  The PFC generates income from various PFC approved fundraisers such as directory advertising, gift-wrap, read-a-thon, the golf tournament, and eScrip & box tops for education, all of which round out our budget and are essential parts of our financial puzzle. 

Without volunteers in place, programs and funding will not be sustained. What I hope this says to all parents is that everyone has the opportunity to find a place to help within our school. There are a variety of committees that easily adapt to every schedule, even for those that work full time.  The Executive Board holds the responsibility of maintaining and monitoring the budget spending to best support existing staff and programs. A few of these key positions are opening and must be filled.
