What is the Auction?

  • The most important fundraiser of the year

  • Close to home, at the newly renovated Boundary Oak Golf Course

  • Every dollar you spend goes to support Walnut Acres Elementary programs for OUR kids! 

Why do we need another fundraiser?

  • To fund classroom aides, learning labs and technology, art and music instruction, and other elementary essentials

  • Past years, PFC auctions have contributed more than $100,000 in needed funds

  • The Live Auction brings our Walnut Acres community together for a greater cause – THE KIDS!

How can I help?

  • Buy your Auction Gala tickets beginning October 1, 2018

  • Donate items for Online, Silent, and Live Auctions

  • Consider a cash sponsorship to help offset expenses

  • Volunteer to help organize, setup, or work the event

  • Participate in the Online Auction (February 18, 2019- March 4, 2019)

How do I get tickets? Tickets are $90 per person/$180 per couple. Tickets will go on sale on October 1, 2018. You can buy tickets online at walnutacres.schoolauction.net/auction2019 or through a paper ticket form that will go home in your child’s backpack.

What should I wear? Auction is a night for parents to get dressed up. The theme often influences attire but semi-formal/cocktail dress is always appropriate. 

What kinds of things can I win at Auction? We receive all kinds of donations from local businesses and the community and from parents like you who support the auction by connecting us with fabulous donations.

·       Buy-in Parties- A buy-in party is a party or activity for kids or adults hosted by Walnut Acres families. You can “buy-in” or purchase a spot to attend. These are smaller gatherings and happen throughout the year. There are pool parties, movie nights, theme parties and dinner parties. This is a great opportunity to socialize with other Walnut Acres families!

·       Online Auction - Just because you can’t make the auction doesn’t mean you’ll miss the chance to win fabulous items like gift cards to local businesses and restaurants, kids summer camps, tickets to museums and performances. You’ll also be able to bid on a fun experience donated by your child’s teacher such as “teacher for the day” or a park play date with the teacher.

·       Silent Auction- This is your chance to bid on exclusive buy-in parties like the annual Wine Walk. You will also find unique experiences like helicopter rides and behind-the-scenes tours, sports memorabilia, jewelry, and many different categories of items. This takes place from 6:00-7:00 during the gala’s cocktail hour—don’t miss out!

·       Live Auction- Live auction items include catered events, exciting vacation packages, sporting events, spa packages, and more! Strategize with friends and pool together to purchase a once-in-a-lifetime group experience.

 

Help us have a successful auction with your donations!!

Donations are the most critical component of a successful auction.  We use these gifts to raise the funds needed to support vital programs for Walnut Acres Elementary.  Programs that are impacted each year include art, science, reading, theater, PE, and technology.

Do you or anyone you know have something great to donate?

 

Must-have big ticket items!

  • Lodging near great cities or attractions
  • Tickets to area events
  • Limo Services
  • Unique experiences like Pixar, Google, or Facebook tours

Who do you know?

  • The manager of a local restaurant?  Next time you dine, ask them if they will donate.
  • An owner of a timeshare, cottage, cabin or condo?  Let them know that by donating they qualify for a tax deduction.
  • The concierge or manager at a hotel you frequent for business will often donate 1-2 night stays.
  • Any service provider, (hairstylist, masseuse, manicurist, even pet groomer!) could donate a service. It’s a great way for them to get connected with new clients.

  • Wine, liquor or spirits

Host a buy-in party!

  • Grown-up Parties (dinner parties, costume parties, backyard BBQs) 
  • Moms/Dads-specific Parties (spa party, themed cocktail party, game night party, sports, pool, ping-pong, poker, bags n’ brews)
