Saturday October 14, 2017 (9am - 12noon) 
Please sign up on the City of Walnut Creek's Community Service Day websitewhich includes all the project details and required registration information. This year's Walnut Acres projects are Landscaping Beautification in the Kindergarten/1st Grade classroom area, and Map and Checkerboard Repainting on the blacktop. If you have landscaping or painting expertise and are available to be a team lead, please contact Courtney at communityserviceday@walnutacrespfc.net.

Walnut Creek Police Department Holiday Card Design Contest

The Walnut Creek Police Department mails out a holiday card every December. This year, they are looking for art work from local elementary school students to grace the holiday card’s cover! If you would like your student’s art to be considered for the holiday card this year, please stop by the school office to pick up a flier. Artwork must be turned into the school office by October 13, 2017.

CUYT Presents 101 Dalmatians

Mark your calendars now for the upcoming presentations of 101 Dalmatians, performed by Walnut Acres 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students.  All tickets $8; all shows begin at 7:00 pm. 

New York Cast: Wednesday and Friday, October 18 & 20
London Cast:  Thursday and Saturday, October 19 & 21

5th Graders! Sign up NOW to be in the production of the Fifth Grade Play:  Alice in Wonderland

It's a MAD, MAD World!  Are you curiouser and curiouser? Then it's time for a TEA Party! Click on this Curtains Up Youth Theatre Link for all the dates, details, and showtimes. Auditions will be held in November.

School Photos Update

The wonderful team at iClickSmiles is hard at work preparing student and class photos for viewing online. When they are ready, your student will receive a personalized notice with their individual online code and gallery password. These will come home with your kids by the end of this week, so please be on the lookout for them in your students' folders or binders.

More information about online ordering and Photo Make Up Day (October 30) will be posted in a separate message as soon as we have all the details.

Would You like to Host a Buy-In Party to Benefit our School? 
We are currently looking for potential hosts for Buy-in Parties, many of which will be sold at the upcoming Auction in March 2018.  Specifically, we are looking for hosts for Kids Buy-in Parties, which are typically for a specific grade level, and Parent Buy-in Parties.

These parties are an essential part of Walnut Acres fundraising efforts. They are a FUN way to support our school and to get to know your child's classmates and other parents in the community! A single family can host a party, or a group of families can host together.

Tickets & Donations for “Live and Let Bid” Auction!

Tickets are on sale for our largest fundraiser event and most fabulous party of the year! Space is limited at this dinner, dancing, and live auction extravaganza on Friday, March 9, so purchase your tickets now atWalnut Acres Auction 2018. 

Secret Agent Tip: Participate in one of two pre-auction raffles to win a dress from Rent the Runway or first pick from a selection of Live Auction Items using the paper order form. 

To achieve our fundraising goals, we need additional donations.  If you have connections with local businesses or can host a buy-in party or have another great donation idea, please let us know at auctiondonations@walnutacrespfc.net!

Remember, all proceeds go to programs for OUR KIDS – the world is not enough!

The Walnut Acres Book Fair is Back On!

November 6-9, Walnut Acres MUR

All your favorite Scholastic books will be available for purchase in the MUR. It’s the perfect time to stock up - right before the Read-A-Thon fundraiser starts - and you'll be raising money for our school at the same time! Drive Thru Sign Ups by Grade Level!
Thank you to the 4th Grade parents who have stepped up to open doors and greet our students at the Drive Thru during the month of October. November is the 3rd Grade parents' turn! Each month, a different class level is responsible for helping at the Drive Thru.

We need 4 parents per day, Monday - Thursday. Fridays will continue to be Father Fridays with our awesome dads greeting the kids in the morning. Please sign up now - it's a short commitment  - just 20 minutes from 7:40 - 8:00 am, but it makes a huge difference in getting our school days off to a good start!

Intradistrict Transfer Request for the 2018-19 School Year

Beginning Monday, October 17 through November 17, 2017, the district will accept Intradistrict Transfer Requests. No requests will be accepted after the November 17 deadline.  All applications must be made online through the MDUSD website.
